The 7 colour mountain is one of the most wonderful hikes in Cusco and is a must do day trip if you are in the city of Cusco, the rainbow mountain and the red valley are a series of high Andean landscapes full of multicolored rainbow like and there are also red and greenish hills and peaks like a reddish desert which makes it one of the most impressive landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. And they make for some of the most beautiful, otherworldly photographs on Earth.
You can also do this excursion on horseback for an additional cost of 90. 00 soles which the locals rent out for riding and you can hire them directly at the start of the trek.

Itinerary
Full Day | 7-Colour Mountain
After picking up all the tourists from their respective hotels between 4:30 and 5:00 am, we will drive for 2 hours in our car to the village of Cusipata where we will stop at the restaurant to have our breakfast, which will take approximately one hour and then we will continue in our transport for 1 hour more to the community of Chilliwani (4700 m.a.s.l.) which is the beginning of the trek then we go to the check point to pay the entrance fee to the community (25 soles for foreign visitors and 15 soles for Peruvian). There we start the hike to the Rainbow Mountain for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes uphill for a distance of 4 km. Once we are on the Rainbow Mountain we will have enough time to take pictures, explore the place, listen to the explanations of the guide and enjoy all the wonderful scenery of the area. We will have enough time on the mountain of 7 colours and depending on the weather conditions, sometimes it is cloudy, foggy or a little rainy and it is very cold, After the visit, we will prepare for the hike back through the Red Valley, which is a spectacular reddish and greenish landscape, the hike through the red valley will be 2 hours approximately until the place where our transport will be waiting for us and will be the end of the hike, then we will take our car back to Cusipata for an hour where we will make a stop to have lunch. After lunch we will return in our transport to Cusco for 2 hours more arriving as final point of the tour to the rejocijo square.
