The Sacred Valley was a crucial area for the Inca Empire and functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political centre for them. Along its length there are many Inca and Pre-Inca archaeological sites.

Its climate was excellent for the development of agriculture and the construction of important cities such as Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, which we will visit as part of this tour.
On this tour we will head through the mountains to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas” which had great importance in the Inca Culture. The valley has a milder climate than Cusco and we will see a succession of picturesque villages, agricultural terraces and several archaeological sites.

Itinerary
Full Day | Valle Sagrado Clásico
After pick up from your accommodation between 7:50 am to 8:00 am in the morning we will travel in our tourist transport from Cusco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. We will stop at the Ccochawasi Animal Sanctuary to see the native animals such as the Condor, Llama, Alpaca and Puma. Then we drive for 10 minutes to the Taray viewpoint to have a classic view of the sacred valley of Urubamba with crops that dress the mountains like carpets. Then we head to the archaeological site of Pisac, where we can see the largest Inca cemetery with more than 200 tombs. We will also be able to admire the incredible cultivation terraces carved into the mountain, explore the Inca tunnel and the religious sector of this important Inca citadel. After exploring the archaeological site we will head to the colourful market of Pisac, then we will continue our journey to Urubamba for our lunch buffet lunch typical of the region and then we will head to Ollantaytambo, where we will explore the archaeological site and admire the water fountains, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana etc.. Afterwards we will continue with the visit to Chinchero and the archaeological site with its many cultivation terraces, the colonial church. Afterwards you will visit the famous textile centre, where you will see the ladies still working in the traditional style demonstrating how they weave beautiful alpaca garments from Inca times, after which you can buy some handmade souvenirs. Finally we will return to Cusco, around 7.00pm.
PISAC RUINS AND MARKET
In the town of Pisac, you will find the largest and most colourful handicraft market in the Cusco region. Here we experience a vibrant atmosphere of communities, traditions such as bartering. There are many handicrafts and textiles made in true pre-Columbian style to buy. Every Sunday there is also a procession of the mayors, who attend the church at around 9:30 to attend the traditional Mass celebrated in Quechua.
OLLANTAYTAMBO
It is the last living Inca city here in this beautiful and strategic place, that the Inca Pachacutec built his fortress / sanctuary of Ollantaytambo. It is a beautiful setting and the surrounding hills hide some of the most impressive ruins in the Valley. It contains structures such as the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Hall, the Intihuatana and the Inca and Ñusta Baths. This site is one of the few places where the Spanish lost a battle during the conquest.
CHINCHERO
Here are the remains of what was the royal hacienda of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui, where a beautiful colonial church is built on the Inca foundations.
There is also a textile and handicraft market, where you can find many handicrafts and local products. After our tour we will return to Cusco at 7:00 pm arriving as a final point at the San Francisco square.
